Dear Constituents of District 45A,

I am writing to endorse Andrew Myers for Minnesota House Representative of District 45A. I have had the pleasure of knowing Andrew for several years, and I can confidently say that he has the integrity and leadership experience you are looking for to tackle big problems and work for solutions in your backyard and for all Minnesotans.

As president of the Upper Red Lake Area Association, I reached out to Andrew about the growing popularity of ice fishing, overnight winter camping, and recreation on the public waters in our area, and the impact it was having on residents, often overwhelmed with the leftovers. Together we built partnerships. He encouraged other legislators on both sides of the aisle to recognize the potential environmental impact when tens of thousands of visitors lack the regulation, resources, and infrastructure to handle garbage and waste during extended stays on Minnesota’s frozen lakes.

In 2023, Andrew successfully Chief Authored the “Keep It Clean” Bill, finally requiring that no garbage or waste be placed on the ice of State Waters. Andrew also knew that regulation alone was not the solution, so he again authored “Keep It Clean- Part Two”, in 2024, requiring the state to develop a grant funding system for local lake area stakeholders interested in developing clean ice strategies and infrastructure in their neighborhoods. Andrew has pledged to continue to partner with us in this legislative effort, in 2025, so communities, not just in his constituency, but across the State of Minnesota, have the resources we need to be nice to the ice and “Keep It Clean”.

I believe it is essential to elect leaders committed to improving our communities and protecting the environment. Representative Myers is one such leader. He has demonstrated his commitment to public service by giving a voice to our shared cause – the protection of Minnesota’s clean waters. Please join me in supporting Andrew Myers and re-electing him to the Minnesota House Representatives for District 45A.
