During these challenging times, I believe you deserve to have a Representative who listens and has your best interests at heart, understands the key issues and is present. I will put the women, men, families, students, people and businesses first and use my business experience and leadership skills to rebuild the economy, advocate for our students, address mental health, protect our area resources, cut wasteful spending, lower taxes and implement policies that raise up everyone in the District. This campaign is all about representing "Your Backyard.
The past few years families and businesses have been devastated. I will oppose any tax increases that ask those who have already sacrificed so much to pay even more. I will work to lower taxes—not raise them—helping families get back on their feet. We need to do more to retain and bring in new people to Minnesota.
I will hold government agencies accountable, and work to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse of your hard-earned tax dollars like I did as a City Council member. We need someone that has cracked down on overspending and has held the government and elected officials accountable for irresponsible spending, especially with a huge budget surplus.
I will work diligently to restore our area businesses and employment by promoting business growth and removing those increasing barriers to entry. I will ensure that you run your business and the government does not. Supporting small businesses will be one of my top priorities.
I will work to ensure public safety for you, your family and businesses in Minnesota. I will work to build better relationships between the public and law enforcement. I am endorsed by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and will continue supporting and working with them to ensure safe communities. I will also stand up against legislation that puts your safety at risk.
I will fight to protect seniors' health and personal safety, as well as bring forward legislation to protect our children. We need to look at reducing or removing the tax on social security and restore need tax cuts for nursing homes. We also need to make sure our children are protected and cared for.
I will also ensure curriculum's are focused on closing the education gap and prepare our children for college, vocational training or the work force. I will fight for funding, and make sure our outstanding West Metro schools have the resources they need to be successful. We need to invest in our children more than ever.
As a prior City Council Member, I have first hand experience about cities infrastructure needs. Our campaign will work closely with each member city to ensure aging infrastructure is reviewed, inventoried, repaired and/or replaced.
As the current Parks Chair for Tonka Bay, my goal has been to promote and protect area resources and lakes including Lake Minnetonka, Lake Langdon and other area lakes and rivers. I will fight for safe, accessible drinking water for Minnesota.
As a father, I have seen the need for better mental health opportunities for our kids. No child should be left to deal with mental health struggles alone and our campaign is working with local school districts, state-wide organizations, parents and teachers to provide better options for our children.
My campaign is about connecting with you the voter to ensure your voices are heard. When elected, I will be holding office hours in district, so you don't have to travel to St. Paul to meet with your elected officials. Representing Your Backyard means working for you and making myself accessible. Your voice is important and my phone is always on. Its time to have representation that puts Your Backyard first!
